Punching papers

FunCrafts_Pre_schoolers_0911_Punching_paperDo you have a bit of paperwork to do? Using a paper punch can be a perfect way of letting your child feel that he is taking part in your task and is such a simple game.

Fun activities with kids don't always mean we need to be fully involved in a game with them; sometimes it is just fine to share a task together or enjoy a similar activity beside each other.

When you have paperwork to do, whether it is bills or simply sorting papers, let your child be part of it by giving him a few office accessories. All you need is few sheets of papers, maybe even old bills or similar that you are throwing away or coloured papers, pens, scissors, hole punch.

Your child can scribble away, punch holes into the papers for confetti and cut bits of paper to his hearts delight. While he may not stay at it forever, the enjoyment will be in doing a similar activity together. Children learn by copying us, and while we may hate paper work, this game same as when children pretend to cook.

For more advanced play or if you are at the computer, give your child an old keyboard and/or a box and he can pretend to be typing away.
