Making necklaces is a good way to let your child practice her motor skills and concentration. Pulling a thread through a small hole in an object requires a lot of different abilities to be at work. But you don't have to break the bank and invest in expensive bead packages from a crafts shop to let your child be creative.
Buy a few packets of cheap pastas, like macaroni, and some string. The pasta can be plain or go for a mix of colours and shapes. The string is easier to handle if it’s a bit stiff and not too thin.
Either let your child first paint the pasta in different colours or let him start threading the pasta into long necklaces or decorations.
