Your Christmas tree decorations do not need to be perfect or coordinated for style, so let your children put their mark. Get a few cheap plastic balls for the tree and let your child decorate them.
If you buy silver balls or in a light colour, they can easily be painted. You can also let your child glue on multi-coloured glitter or paint with glitter gel pens. You can also do all of the above.
If you paint your balls, make sure they are dry before painting on a thin layer of glue for the glitter.
Get deep paper plates for the glitter, it will contain it better. Let your child paint random layers of glue on the ball, or paint a thin layer of glue over the whole ball. Either sprinkle the glitter on the ball or dip the ball directly into the glitter.
Hang the finished balls on a string to dry. It is a good idea to name them with a felt pen, if you have several children.
