Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland), is a fantastic charity that supports parents that have to deal with the greatest sorrow, the death of a baby, during or shortly after pregnancy.
Formed by parents that suffered through the loss of a baby and wanted to support others, but also offer the services and help they felt were lacking in their own bereavement. The charity also promotes research into the causes of neo-natal death and stillbirth.
Féileacáin provide hospital with thoughtful memory boxes which have been put together with items that help parents dealing with bereavement, helping them
create memories. The boxes include and instant camera, hand knitted blanket, two small teddy bears, a small memory box, cards and a finger/foot printing kit.
The boxes can be sponsored by the public for €20, but are given to the bereaved parents for free. For more information on this very worthy charity visit their website. You can also call them to get support and understanding.
