Early summer is a perfect time to visit Fota Wildlife Park, as you will see most animals with their now energetic young. The baby giraffe Aoife was born in April. The park is about 15 minutes by train or car from Cork City and has a wide variety of animals moving freely over large areas. You will walk the grounds with monkeys trying to steal your sandwiches, and see both giraffes and zebras up close.
It opens Monday to Saturday at 10 am, Sundays at 11 am, and closes every day at 6pm. Prices for adults are €13.50, children €9, children up to two years of age go free, and the family ticket is €56 (2 adults and max 4 kids).http://www.fotawildlife.ie/
