Entertainment_0611_Clann_LirA beautiful and magical story of a father's love for his children. Clann Lir is the re-telling of the ancient Irish tale of the children of Lir, told with puppets, images and newly-composed traditional music.


A father searches for his children, who have been magically transformed, and he has only three chances to break the spell. A puppet theatre suited for children of all ages.

The play is directed by Marc Mac Lochlainn and the music has been composed by Micheal Chang and Freda Nic Giolla Chatháin. It can be seen in Limerick this weekend or as part of Cork Midsummer festival next week where it also will be performed in Irish.

18th-19th June 2011, 11am, Murphy's Spiegeltent Theatre.
15th-16th July, 3pm, Earagail Arts Festival, Donegal.
17th-23rd October, Babaro International Children's Festival, Galway
Cost: €5 in Donegal, €8 in Cork.
