A review from a parent
Barnstorm’s production of Mike Kenny’s play is a great example of how a small budget need not be a barrier to a very professional production. The show deals very well with a young boy’s struggle to be accepted as a fully fledged member of his family. The mythological bit was probably lost on my 4 year old companion and was somewhat cringe-inducing for this 40 year-old.
When asked afterwards about his opinion, my companion plumped for “excellent” and said that if given a choice of watching it or his ‘Batman’ video that ‘The Song from the Sea’ would be the winner. High praise indeed.
