The sound of my nagging voice

There are times that I just can't stand the sound of my nagging voice. When I am continuously in anger and irritable mode.

A cousin of mine was visiting and jokingly asked me if my girls names where No-X-No! or just X? Yeah, I thought it was a riot alright. Could have strangled him on the spot, but it made me think. I was stuck in a rut or rather a vicious circle.

The constant tiredness, high expectations I had (ok…I admit…have) on myself, the lack of me-time and the kids perfectly normal but continuous demands were just leaving a washed out version of the mother I believed and hoped I could be.

It wasn’t about turning into super mum, it was just time to take a step sideways. Take a few early nights just to make up for the constant lack of sleep, forget about the freedom you sometimes feel when the kids fall asleep and rather than extending that to a late night, enjoy a good hour and go to bed.

Once the tiredness was somewhat under control I really needed to rest my voice, no screeching, nagging or whining, from my side that is. And lastly, focus on doing something with the kids rather than just getting through the day.

Well, it was a well laid plan that I keep going back to when I feel the tension in my forehead from constantly scowling or just having a sour face, not to mention the strain on my voice when I’ve passed the day with a screechy tone.
