I am a WAHM

So Parenthood.ie is barely launched two weeks and already my children are complaining that I work too much. I've gone from a calm enough stay-at-home mum to a WAHM, and I'm already starting to hate that acronym (Working At Home Mum). As if all I did before wasn't work. The only difference now is that there's just more to do.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love writing again, parenting is my passion and starting my own business is as exhilarating as it is nerve wracking. But, none of that gets the washing, cleaning or cooking done. My poor girls are a bit dazed with the tornado mum that has moved into their lives.

I'm making it up in a big way today, when with (heroic) help from my mother and aunt, I'm throwing a birthday party. The totally outnumbered male of the household, proud husband and father, is busy finishing off the swingset. Cooking and cleaning not being his forte.

Children's birthday parties do seem to grow with their age...don't they?
