Most of us have read that children's time in front of the TV should be restricted and monitored. There are many recommendations from professionals, which state that children under two should not watch television. In general the recommendation for children over two is a max of two hours a day.
A study done in the US by psychosocial professor Linda S. Pagani show that watching a lot of TV impacts children's activity and engagement in the classroom later on. It also, logically, will lead to unhealthy habits, such as less physical activity and a higher BMI.
The study shows that excessive TV habits in children between two and four, can delay their development.
Another scary statistic is that it also increases the possibility of your child being bullied in school by 10%.
"Early childhood is a critical period for brain development and formation of behaviour", says Dr. Pagani, a child experts at the Université de Montréal, the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Center and the University of Michigan.
